Best Practices for Offices after Coronavirus

As we start to wrap up May and look towards June, it’s important to note the changing tides which we face daily in terms of the Coronavirus. Many states are on their way to re-opening, if not entering phase 3. And, with that in mind, many businesses are re-opening their doors to their employees for the first time in a long time. As businesses begin this process, there’s going to be a lot of change and certainly a lot of uncertainty. Before we dive into this, let’s take a look at the states that are on their way to reopen.

States that are Reopened:

  • Connecticut (still waiting on Personal Care)

  • Florida

  • Georgia (still waiting on Entertainment)

  • Hawaii (stay-at-home order to expire May 31st, but Outdoor, Recreation, Retail, Personal Care, Industries, and Houses of Worship have reopened)

  • Idaho (still waiting on Outdoor and Recreation and Food and Drink)

  • Indiana (still waiting on Outdoor and Recreation)

  • Iowa (still waiting on Entertainment and Outdoor/Recreation)

Best Practices

  • Social Distancing

  • Daily, if not weekly sanitization

  • Masks if necessary

  • Sick employees? Stay home!

  • Cancellation of all non-essential business-related travel

  • If your office is too big to safely return - allow most essential employees back into office and continue remote work at a decreased capacity.

  • Have a COVID-19 plan in place for anyone who might test positive for the virus both with or without symptoms
